 The WASPs Football Tournament is held for Years 5 and 6 and the Girls. We generally have a big turn-out for the event which is usually done on a mini-league then knock-out basis until only one winner remains! This year the Girls tournament was held as a separate event.

Tournament Rules

 

All normal laws of football shall apply with the exception of the following. There will be no offside.

 

1          A team shall consist of six outfield players, a goalkeeper and a maximum of two substitutes.

 

2          Goal Kicks will be taken from the goal line.

 

3          The competition will be split into leagues. Each league will be decided on points scored, goal difference, goals scored, and the result of the game between the two tying teams. 

 

4          In the knock out stages extra time of 4 minutes will be played if the teams are still level then penalty kick will be taken to decide the match

 

5          Points will be awarded as follows 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.

 

6          In Year Six the winners of each league will enter a knock out competition to determine the overall winner. In Year 5 all the competing teams will play a further three games, The winners will play each other in the Champions League, all Runners up will play each other the 3rd placed teams shall play each other as will the 4th placed teams.

 

7          The referee's decision will be final on all matters appertaining to the game. In the event of a dispute the organiser's decision will be final.

 

8          The First named team is responsible for providing the match ball.

 

9          Each match will be SEVEN MINUTES with no half time.

 

10        All free kicks will be DIRECT. Players must retreat 5 yards

 

11        Substitutions may be made at any time during the game with the permission of the referee. Any player who has been substituted may re-enter the field of play. (Roll on roll off).

 

12        PLEASE BE READY FOR YOUR GAMES so that we can keep to time.
